It happens, even with new drives.Okay, so I committed several major computing faux-pas, and I’ve been justifiably punished by the electron-gods and, now I’m looking for a path to atonement…įoolishly, after freshly installing my new 11.3 distro, and having it work like a dream for a few weeks, I did a bad bad thing (several actually): Always formatted and tested before recording. This drive is almost brand new, used maybe on 1 shoot. I'm not even sure how to salvage my SSD now. Update was successful but now when I go to remake the partition, disk manager says "The Device is not Ready". Tried both Quick and Full format, no dice.ĭownloaded and updated the firmware on the SSD. Window says it's cannot format the drive (no other explanation or error code). No other tool seems to be able to solve it.Īlso tried using Power Data recovery and it also stopped working after 7%.įigured I might as well just format it and forget the footage. It says there's still a logical partition so it won't let me recover. Found a few bad sectors (namely the first sector) and then got stuck at 25% and wouldn't continue. There is another thread with a similar problem and someone having success with Active Partition Recovery so I might give that a try. So far I still haven't been able to retrieve any files. Running the latest firmware on my BMPC and an approved SSD - Adata SX900 256gb. I saw 10% pop up and promptly turned off the camera and retrieved the drive 10 mins later. I'm aware that this might occur if power was interrupted while recording or pulling out the SSD but that was definitely not the case. When I tried to run chkdsk, it won't saying the data is raw. No files on the drive and computer was asking me to format. Popped out the SSD and put it on a reader to download the footage and and error pops up. (so nothing super critical) Battery was running low down to 10% after using up my switronix PB-70 so I shut it down and brought it inside. Was filming some footage of my backyard with my BMPC.
